My previous post was removed, so without going into any detail I have decided to take this season off. i am keeping all my racing stuff and might return next year. I am going to do something different with my time and money.

The problem was with the driver not the tranny, (lost focus). I have a spare, but my head is just not into it this season, among other things. Going to do some traveling. Everyone stay safe, and hopefully be back next season.

Mark-
Kudos for admitting the mistake - I know I have lost focus and that is when things can happen for sure - Still bummer it happened-
Take some good pictures for us while you're out and about!

It was kinda weird, I was maybe 6th on the grid for sat morn timed practice.
Took the green, saw maybe 5 CPGT ( and JP) cars leave me and John Sr. Plavan in the dust. It took me all the way till turn 2 to pass Sr. I got to the chicane going back to the bridge and shifting from 2nd to 3rd I let out the clutch too fast and jammed it into 3rd ( did not feel good) the gear box rattled and popped out of 3rd, I heard the death rattle and massaged it back to the garage. I was trying way too hard on the 2nd lap of a sat. morning session trying to catch cars that were clearly 4-5 seconds faster than me.
I guess I need to learn to drive a 2.0L properly (much different than my 2.5L, much more difficult). It was such a stupid mental error.
After thousands of shifts you would think you can never make a mistake.
Not..............But the funny thing is when I was coasting back to the garage I was relieved, I did not have to drive it anymore. I spent the rest of the day helping work on the Desimones Porsches. The cold beer tasted good too That was fun!

Mark,

Very well told. I look for the day when it gets back to 2.0L Porsches and 2.4L Datsuns [I even tried to get Edie to sponsor me...] and the rest of the CP cars, because I think it'll be more fun for all involved.

Until then, it looks like the Japanese [in the form of a Rotary] may have again taken the reigns. Damn the Rotaries!
