Bruce,
That is great news. SCCA recognizes the VARA drivers as being responsible and that our licensing program prepares our drivers properly so that we can be competitive within CalClub.

I have been racing with VARA for about three years including VARA U and absolutely love it. I recently joined SCCA and received my regional license so that I could race in the 24HR LeMons race last Dec. at Thunderhill - at the time they did not recognize VARA Licensing, maybe now they will.

In Jan. I put my regional license to use and drove a good friend’s car (ITA Mazda RX7) in the Jan. Natl./Dbl regional CalClub race at Cal Speedway. I enjoyed racing with the CalClub because I was able to take all my VARA racing experience and apply it to the CalClub race. I raced hard & clean and finished quite well. Yes, the adrenaline was at a high level due to the tight door to door nose to tail racing lap after lap. It is neat that I can double dip my racing between VARA & CalClub. My home will always be with VARA, however, I look forward to driving more CalClub Regional races. It is a neat mix with the two clubs - small bore vintage cars relying on momentum and more modern cars with big HP and suspensions.
