"Sad news. At a historic race meeting at Phillip Island (Victoria, Australia)last weekend, a green Mazda RX2 apparently had a driveline failure leaving him stranded on the start line when the race started. Apparently, about the first half of the field got past ok, but then he was hit hard by the yellow 2002.

He was travelling at about 100kmh when he hit followed by another 10 now bent and twisted cars - two 2002's, Mazda, a few Fords, a brace of Minis and what looks to be an old Holden. Two drivers were air lifted to hospital but I understand they are ok.

If it is the 2002 I am thinking about, it was immaculate. "

Makes me feel better about using rolling starts like we do......don't think this would of happened if they had rolling starts.

......not that we can't have big accidents at the start with rolling starts but it sure cuts down on issues like this......
