when you blow up the motor is it necessary that you drive all the way around the track?

Blown Motors

Postby Murray Chalmers on Tue Jul 21, 2009 7:50 am

It does seem that there is a misconception that it is not only necessary to continue on around the track until the motor stops turning on it's own, but that one should be very careful to remain directly on the racing line. That action sure ruined many options for the start of group 4 race. It is time that as drivers we develop a more thoughtful attitude for the other drivers on the track.

Yeah - perhaps the offender (or their car) could wear a scarlet "O" at the next event...

I think I may have sweated off about 10 lbs. sitting on the grid for the extra 20 minutes in 105 degree temperature, so it wasn't all bad..
