Hi,

First of all I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mark Vaden, and I live in San Diego. I have a TR4, and am running Route66 Classic, which is my first event with VARA. It looks like it is going to be a great event! I am really looking forward to running with you guys.

I have a question about teching my car. I believe I have followed the rules listed in the rule book carefully. Are there any common gotchas, or things that I should double check? Also, when I time trialed with the porsche club, there were local shops that would do the tech ahead of time. Does this exist for VARA?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Mark-
Welcome to VARA - Looking forward to seeing another Triumph out-
I am the Chief Driving Instructor and also your DP Rep so we'll be talking some at Fontana- Hopefully Jerry B. will see this and respond to the Tech questions- We do not have Tech places to go to, Tech is done at the track, unless you participate in out Annual tech which has been done for this year-
Few things to look out for - Belts mounted properly , Rubber lines,Fuel lines not tied up to Braided Lines - "Hot" electrical not taped up on starter, alternator etc. - Fire extinguisher showing good - Race Fuel Cell Mounted Properly- Snell 2000 or newer Helmet , Firesuit , Gloves, Shoes, Socks and Arm restraints for Open cars -So much more that Jerry B. will cover with you -

Good Luck and See you at the Track-

hi Mark:

You might want to look at the below topics about "updates".....I have posted a 'ding" list there which might help you in addition to what John told you.

Tech will open at about 3pm to 5:15 Thursday in the covered breezeway/garage next door to the south of the registration office. It will continue from 7am Friday on.

Jerry-

You might want to update that list- specifically fire bottle orientation fore-aft, and how tech would like to see the routing of the fuel cell vent (with and without check valves). Depending on the vehicle, those items may not be so easy to address in the field.

"""""specifically fire bottle orientation fore-aft""""""""""" added

""""""""" like to see the routing of the fuel cell vent """""

"""Depending on the vehicle, those items may not be so easy to address in the field. """"""""""

Due to the different configurations of the cars, field inspection and critique is best possible case.
Thanks for your input.
