I have a friend using my CF for VARA School, so I will be up there, enjoying the sunshine... anyone else going for T&T? After cooking my motor at Willow (spin, rock, voila, no belt), Don will get my fresh Ivy for school!

I will be running the Crossle at Fontana, I want a front row seat for Luftman's second effort. Recall he led last time, (and got fastest lap!) only to fall victim to "traction" issues.... good luck to the "Fontana Gorrilla"! Hey Steve, don't duplicate Vittorio's celebration after your first win!!!

I hope everyone is well and I hope the current economy does not take it's toll. Remember, you can't take it with you!

PS- I heard a rumor that a former ford driver is going to make a return at Fontana, we'll see!

Well...turns out my block was cracked. Have the new engine engine. Gonna get it in the car in the next week/so. Unfortunately, not going to make school. Hoping to be at Fontana.

Here's to a great year!

And...is Lee rejoining the group ? >

JR you are pretty sharp. Yes, I found a good deal on a Crossle 32F that I just couldn't pass up. It looks like it is a nice car, but I will not see it in person until later this week - it is in transit right now.

I am also toying with the idea of renting it out for selected events, with trackside support during the event of course.

So who did your new engine? Were they able to use many of your original components? How did it dyno out? Inquiring minds want to know....

Lee,

That's awesome! So psyched. And...if you're renting, know my cousin Scotty would love to run a couple weekends. So...let me know. :>.

re: my car...Jay Ivy did the engine. Ray said it came back "good" so whatever hp that means :>>>. Block obviously lost to us. Also had the old pistons and crank in it, so had to upgrade those. Good news is...the head only needed a little work. And only needed a couple small things on the carb (big savings there :>>>). Ah well. I keep telling myself it's only money. Eeeek.

I'm headed to Ray's next week to spend a couple days learning to work on the car. I'm very excited about it. Can hardly wait!

...for this season! Ray should be able to give you a copy of your dyno sheet to show the performance of the engine. I would love to see a copy if you don't mind.

My new car arrived last night! It looks pretty good and shouldn't need much to get ready. My standard of prep is a bit higher than the guy I got it from, but that's not unusual for me.

Now I need to get busy for Fontana. Engine is a bit grungy, tho no worse than Lufty's (LOL) and I have no idea what gears are in it either. I also need to adjust the pedals, bleed brakes and clutch and adjust the belts..

I have new numbers ordered too. If your cousin is ready to rent, I would love to talk with him. Fontana will be a shakedown weekend, so if he is there he can see the car in person.

It's always the problem huh. Others don't keep their cars as clean/dialed in. I got lucky with a good car. But...even then...realize I've had to replace just about everything. Ugh.

So psyched to see yours. Right now...I should be in Fontana. Fingers crossed :>.

I'll ask Scottie re: his travel/racing plans.

So jazzed you're back in the fold :>

JR, I fired her up last night and she purrs like a kitten. I gottta hand it to Jay Ivey, he builds a fine engine.

I went over the chassis to look for problem areas and only found a couple items to repair, I will be getting a parts order up to Neil Porter next week.

Mike V. is up at Buttonwillow this weekend, he is letting his crew guy take the University.

Not much else going on.

Yea...Jay built Bill and Shaunie's FF engines and they say they're strong. I'm really eager to get in the car.

I'm also going to try and get a camera for the car. I was talking to a driving coach recently and he said it's the best tool out there. Now...just need to figure out what to get. I know JD is very happy with a little JVC set-up.

It's only money. It's only money. It's only money! :>>

Have a great weekend.

Morning!

Would you pls shoot me your phone number.

My computer died on me a couple months back and I'm slowly rebuilding my email and phone lists.

Spent a couple days with Ray earlier this week learning to work on the car. Had a blast.

Car is coming together nicely.

Think he also solved some steering issues I've been fighting. Excited to get it on the track!

:>
