Not that I'm 100% certain without digging out all my crap from when I was a VARA BoD member/secretary/VP but the way it used to be was:
Production cars - up to 1968
Racing Cars - (sports racers & formula cars) up to 1972
That could screw up a few guy's plans these days! (in fact, it would screw up my Mazda RX3 plans)
But, who the hell cares about history?
Remember our printed newsletters?
Remember our printed member rosters?
Oh, if any of you see Craig Hibbard, tell him Colby says howdy. I heard he got re-elected, but I guess I keep missing him at all the VARA races.

Tom.....youve' been on vacation too long since the 818-898-9151 days..... Prod cars thru 1972 has been in effect for about 6 years and "back in the day" of the newsletters (which were great by the way) , we allowed FSV's and Atlantics thru 1978 and Indy and F5000 cars thru '75, as well as Sports racers thru 1974.
I would think a monthly or so newsletter would be a good addition again. A lot of folks don't use the modern version, (this Board).....Murray and Karen did it a few years back for a bit.....we could use the Colby humor, want ads, rants etc etc.....why not talk to the BOD about it? YOUR Speedwell ad and one or two others might cover the printing and postage.
There was even an an Exibition class 'Examples: IMSA, NASCAR,CART etc. with....."Acceptance is by application............approval by Ell Comm. ....or by individual Race Chairman". So even your RX3 , back then would have been elligible. (remember the days of race chairmen?).
You've been conspicuous by your abscence lately......'hey theres Tom Colby...havent seen him in a while'. Cummon out more often.
And BTW....it's not MY board....its OUR board.

I wasn't inferring anything at all about what years are currently acceptable, makes no real difference to me as long as they're at least old.
And, although I didn't race much the last few years, I have been at about 80% of all the VARA races.
