I sure do love the idea of working on some other venues...there is a big group of us that would love to see some race a bit more East...like Phoenix :D

2010 Tentative 2010 Schedule Announced
We finally have word back from our tracks, and are prepared to announce our tenative schedule. We are still working on some other exciting venues, but here's what's confirmed so far:

January 9, - Annual Banquet - The Grand Long Beach, CA
January 23, - Annual Tech - AutoClub Speedway
February 6-7 - University of VARA plus Test and Tune - Buttonwillow Raceway Park
March 5-7 - Route 66 Classic - AutoClub Speedway
April 10-11 - High Desert Challenge - Willow Springs
May 1-2 - British Extravaganza - Buttonwillow Raceway Park
Sept 11-12 - Oktoberfest - Buttonwillow Raceway Park
Oct 16-17 - Porsche Datsun shootout - Las Vegas motor Speedway
Nov 6-7 - Big Bore Bash - Willow Springs

Get your calendars out, and lock in these dates. We'll keep you up-to-date on other opportunities as well.

I agree, but you couldn't get me too interested in this at 4AM! Somehow we have to get Phoenix back on the calendar. It was always great fun to go over there and the track is fantastic. Many other vintage race organizations run there, but it would be more fun if VARA could work it out with PIR in the spring or fall.

How about the new Chuckwalla Valley Raceway being built in Midway.

I second (third?) the request for including Phoenix and possibly the Chuckwalla Raceway to the calender. But then they are closer to me here in Casa Grande AZ than tracks like Buttonwillow, or even Fontana.

HSRwest has two events at Chuckwalla listed on the 2010 Schedule, AZSCCA has 4 events listed at Phoenix. This means to me that I need to maintain membership in at least 3, possibly 4, clubs to get any annual seat time. I'd like to make VARA my number one club and run as many of our events as my towing budget allows.....

And Susan and I love the Vegas event, well worth the tow.
