Big Bore: Who's Going?

Big Bore: Who's Going?

The Elan will be there, having recovered from a nuclear explosion while testing at Willow a couple months ago. Magnaflux those rods, boys and girls!

Driver is tipping scales at 221 lbs, and should properly be addressed as "Magnaflesh".

Looks like a great turnout!

The "Team Sparkletts" 240Z will be in effect this weekend. Looks like it'll be a great weekend, and surprisingly temperate weather!

BTW, the Z and I will be tipping the scales at 2212/192 respectively....

Mullaney is now out; diverted to San Diego for the weekend against my wishes. Have fun and see you all next year!

You better show up.... There will be alot of us that might need some help finding the first turn :D

Maybe a slow lead and follow will be in order...

Lead, follow or get out of the way

Postby ChrisHorn on Wed Nov 05, 2008 8:52 am

Is Turn One a left or a right?

I'm guessing that Mark will not have the same shifter problems this year, so it looks like there will be a great group of people to follow his lead around.

Mullaney, very sad to hear that you've lost your sense of priorities, but looking forward to seeing you regain your sanity and get back on the track.

Chris, Turn 1 is a a decreasing radius right hander. :D

In fact if you take it right (like I did earlier this year) you can do a full 360 in front of the bleachers, hit the apex in the dirt, slide across the asphalt, back to the dirt and continue towards turn 2. I found that to be the fastest and cleanest way to get through there. The rocks in the car and dust in the helmet really help you focus on your foot work and night vision skills.

Your other option might be to take the Tow vehicle route and just head right up to turn 5-6 area.. Most likely good for 3-4 seconds depending on the amount of speed you want to carry through the rocks.

Either way will work...

See you at the track..

Shifter fixed... even gotta a spare now.

Attention all superfast Porsche drivers:

I have it on good authority that the CP race will actually be a newly designated Group 11 race; to take place after all of the other groups.

Therefore, no need to hurry up to the starting grid; relax, have a cappuccino on us, and take it easy....

Meanwhile, let us Datsun guys go around and clean the debris off the track. We'll make sure that it's spic-n-span for you guys!

Tow safely, and we'll see you there!
