My Allard K2 has been accepted for the Monterey Historic Races again this year.

VARA's own John Wilkins will do the driving again at tlhe August 14th through August 17th event. There will be 5 or 6 other Allards there but I haven't seen an entry list as yet.

If you go to this event, be sure to stop by our paddock for refreshments and a lot of "B**S" stories about every thing in general.

I hope to be back to near normal after that facial surgery ordeal at U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. I want to thank everyone again for your prayers and get well wishes. They meant a lot to me and our family.

There is a story concerning my surgery that I like to tell to anyone who will listen. My Dermatologic Surgeon in Pasadena cut as much of the cancer out as she was able to but it had spread onto a nerve that goes to the brain. She suggested that I go to Sacramento to the U.C. Davis Medical Center where there was a Otolaryngology Specialist. . It would require removing some of the facial bone and could require removal of my right eye ball. She said that, sadly, there were no Otolaryngology Surgeons in So. Calif. area.

I didn't realize the urgency of my situation. Finally, She insisted that I go as soon as possible to U.C. Davis or it would be too late to operate. I owe my life to her. Her name is Dr. ELISABETH Shim.

Mina and I were staying at the Sacramento Marriott, which is next to the Medical Center. I was released from the hospital on a Friday and Mina and I wanted to go to Mass on Sunday to give thanks for saving my life. We called for a Taxi to take us to a Catholic Church. The Driver said he knew of a Catholic Church about 5 miles away and would take about 20 minutes to get there.

When the Taxi pulled up to the Church, I nearly fell out of the door. The Church was named SAINT ELIZABETH".

I am not an overly religious person but sometimes ........things happen!! Thank you Dr. Elisabeth Shim, I owe you!!!!
