Was there a Board of Directors meeting last week that the general membership did not know about? _________________ "What's that little red car?"
"That's a Sprite."
"There's no way it's a Sprite. It just passed a 911."

Yes, and I don't know.
"Yes" there was a BOD meeting last week.
"I don't know" if the general membership was notified or not.
Adding to the list of things I don't know....is the BOD required in the by-laws (never seen them) to notify the general membership of BOD meetings beyond the Annual meeting? The tone above may sound flippant. I assure you, it is not. I am not the best with words to make my point clear.
On one hand, not a lot would get accomplished if you had a room packed full of people with an opinion on everything. On the other hand, a room packed full of people with concerns should speak volumes to the BOD. Sure would suck to drive from the Ventura area or San Diego to go to one of these meetings and find that nothing of interest to me was discussed. Sure would suck worse to stay home and find out something was discussed that I had a strong opinion/concern about....
Since class reps are usually in attendance and the venue doesn't support dozens of people I'd suggest the best course of action for us members is to keep our class reps and BOD members aware of our concerns. We should also ask our class reps to keep us aware of the happenings at these meetings (John puts out a letter to his class members, see Kevin McD's post as well). If we don't feel that our class reps are representing our concerns let the BOD know.
Just my $.02.
