Just a note to ALL C-Sedan entrant's. I have been asked to go over the CS rulebook and make the nessesary changes, to bring it current to 2008 racing. We have one of the biggest fields in VARA and I would like to keep things running smoothly. Any and all suggestion are invited, as this your/our class so your participation is encouraged. You may e-mail me @ macspurr@aol.com or call 818-365-8585.

Im looking in from the outside and I am wondering what is wrong with the class? It appears that it is one of the most completive classes in VARA looking at the lap times. last year the were 6 different winners in 7 races. _________________ www.FRANKMONISEMOTORS.com

I don't believe this effort is due to anything being 'wrong' with the C Sedan class, but rather see it as an ongoing process of clarifications (and fixes) and to follow VARAs current momentum to improve and enforce our rules as a whole (Kim Madrid's work on the Formula Vee's is a fine example, as presented at the recent BOD meeting).
Kevin's fair and comprehensive efforts will be appreciated - and we'll all be watching carefully _________________ '69 BMW 2002 - CS - #02

What is the status of the CS rule updates? Specifically (for my intent, as I am building a new engine), I would like to know whether a dry sump oiling system is allowed?
Current rule book for General Production Car Guidelines [section F.1] states that "Lubrication is free." in the Engine section, and there is nothing in the supplementary rules to suggest otherwise. Please advise.

Be careful with that. Although there is a rule that says "Lubrication is free", there have been cars moved to an M class because they adapted a dry-sump system. _________________ "What's that little red car?"

"There's no way it's a Sprite. It just passed a 911."

Careful indeed . . . it's the reason I requested a clarification. I did speak with the CS Class Rep Kevin McDonald, and he indicated an update to the rules is in the works (dry sump not allowed in CS). _________________ '69 BMW 2002 - CS - #02

Updating the rules is changing the rules. Check it out every time VARA has updated the rules ( not enfforcing the current) participation has gone down. Whinners usually don't race they are to busy whinning. Some classes have vurtualy disapeared because of rule gerrymandering. If a car/ driver is kicked out of a class he was a paricipant, or he would not have ben targeted. Now the driver has to choose. Race with some-one else, spend money changing the car just to have to do it again and again, or sell the car. I sold the car after the third change of the rules.
I am a little slow it learn.
