| How about staging our annual tech next year at Pomona during a Swap Meet? As long as they were willing to waive admission, might be a good opportunity for lots of exposure.

FYI- Jerry B and Kim Madrid setup a booth there regularly pushing VARA-
Good feedback has been experienced and hopefully more to come.
They do need some help for those interested in getting more exposure for the club. Some more help would allow them to setup Video and Schmooze more people with questions. It would be great to have more Open Wheel Representation as well- Contact them if interested. _________________ John Wilkins

Good thinking. Though I know nothing about the logistics of doing tech at the swap meet, I imagine the impact of the cars and activity would create lots of interest. _________________ '69 BMW 2002 - CS - #02

A "VARA Corral" would indeed make a BIG splash... the Pomona swap is a BIG deal with even European attendance... _________________ Rick Clemente

I can say that they will not "wave admission" costs to anyone. Either the $8 parking or the $10 admission fees. Also it would be a logistical nightmare getting enough room, roping areas off etc etc.
I will post dates of Pomona and Long Beach meets that Kim and Rudy will set up a booth with the slide show etc......even just getting a car or two for display would be a huge undertaking.
With 15,000 people at Pomona and 8,000 at L.B. there are a few people that understand right turns. We could use some help in distributing flyers and getting the word out. Details on the post.

My memory is starting to go along with my joints. I just checked out their website. I used to try and go to one a year but I must admit it's been about three years since I've been and I swear the costs have gone up considerably. I also remember a lot of empty spaces back by the grandstands, but I suppose the event has grown a lot.
Jerry - let me know when you guys are going to have a booth and i'll make an attempt to show up.

Hi RK.......
your right...used to be cheap.....prices have doubled in the past 6 years. The Pomona Fairgrounds is on leased land from L.A. and they in turn sublease to Cross & Sons for the shows. These have turned into big biz with a claimed 15 to 20,000 people showng up.

The schedule is posted in the "Events' section...both for Pomona and for Long Beach. Pomona certainly will be closer for you. We get there at o-dark thirty Sunday to set up and are gone by 1:30 pm. Row 14 Space 20.
Cars and Coffee might be a stretch for you unless you are down Irvine way with your car. It would be great to display...but the logistics might not be right.
